The document was developed by the Arc of Massachusetts - the Government Affairs Committee - in 2008. Founded more than 60 years ago, The Arc of Massachusetts represents the interests of more than 200,000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The toolkit is a compilation of useful and practical documents about advocacy such as ten informal rules of advocacy, the budget process, tips and sample letters for contacting legislators.
